Good, Tallulah

I had the pleasure of photographing baby Tallulah this past Sunday. Tallulah didn’t say much, but she sure did smile….. a lot! It was as if she knew something that I did not. Was my hair out of place? Was there something on my shirt?

Her beautiful hypnotic eyes stared into the camera lens. Beads of sweat formed on my brow as I stared back. Does she have the answers to my most pondered questions? Like – What is Dark Matter? And – Does the edge of the Universe exist? I was drawn deep into her eyes…

Then she smiled again as if to say “yep, I knew it”! Okay, yes… yes I did take more than a penny from the “take a penny” dish at the gas station that morning. And yes, I drove for over a week with an expired license. Yea, I admit, I have my weaknesses like fluffy kittens and fried pickles. But how could she know these things?!

She was brilliant and she had me figured out.

Tallulah was indeed a delight to photograph! She smiled and giggled and looked on with bright-eyed wonderment. What a beautiful and happy baby!

I title this…

“If a photographer cares about the people before the lens and is compassionate, much is given. It is the photographer, not the camera, that is the instrument.”—Eve Arnold

This quote tugs pretty hard at our heart strings here at Mugshot Studio. We are deeply passionate about capturing special moments. Whether it’s serious and intimate or extremely funny, it’s the emotion derived from a photograph that really lights our fire and keeps us going. We love looking at photos but more importantly, we love the spark and connection that photos inspire.

Our passion for photography is constantly renewed with each session. We are extremely lucky to be able connect with our clients and capture some really awesome moments with all of them.

Clark in the Park

It was a cool autumn afternoon at Smith Gardens in Oakwood with Sir Clark Avery Simmons. Clark’s lively energy and boisterous laughter filled every nook and cranny of the park. One of Clark’s best attributes is the ability to disguise himself with his many unique faces.

Clark loves to run at super-sonic speeds, by the way. I nearly had a heart attack chasing that young lad around the park. He definitely kept me on my toes and it was great. I love high energy photo shoots!

Randy and Cathy Simmons have one heck of an awesome youngster and I feel pretty lucky to capture his awesome personality. Oh, and there was the nose picking moment which was priceless!
